Kayne West is no stranger to controversy, especially on social media. His controversies span over a number of years, so the general public seems to simply just let him live. West’s Instagram and Tiktok account have always sparked conversation, whether it was his Neo-Nazi clothing line or eerie live videos at churches.
This month, it was something else entirely; a verified Tiktok with the nickname “Kanye West” was covered with videos and photos of Kim Kardashian, his ex-wife.
Kardashian and West were married from 2014 to 2022. The two divorced because, as Kardashian stated on the CNN Interview, she did not feel safe emotionally or financially with West. She never knew what to expect when she woke up. West has a tendency in the media to spark conversations for controversial and unpredictable behavior.
Conversations really started in 2008 when he went on stage during Taylor Swift’s MTV Video Music Award acceptance speech.
He ran on stage and declared, “Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time, of all time.” At the time of Fearless’s release, Swift already had a huge fanbase of “Swifties.” West felt the repercussions of his decision when millions of people sparked conversation online.
However, even before this, West was seen as a troublemaker in the media.
In 2005, he publicly criticized President George W. Bush’s response to Hurricane Katrina. West said, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.”
His comment was in response to Bush’s slow response to Hurricane Katrina’s devastation.
Thirteen years later, West flipped his political opinions right around, claiming slavery sounds like a choice made by African Americans for hundreds of years. He later said his comments were misinterpreted, but this event started a spiral of controversies.
In 2022, West had a vicious run.
During Paris Fashion Week in October 2022, West wore a “White Lives Matter” shirt. “White Lives Matter” was classified as a hate slogan by the Anti-Defamation League, so the action sparked immediate widespread criticism from the public and fellow artists.
A few months later in December 2022, West lost his platform after a series of antisemitic remarks on Alex Jones’s InfoWars where he praised Adolf Hitler.
He continued these Neo-Nazism behaviors in 2025 when he released the music track, “Heil Hitler.” He was put on international travel bans to Australia, the UK and canceled concert appearances in Poland.
West released t-shirts with a swastika through his company, Yeezy.com. He promoted his sale through social media accounts.
The week of Sept. 14, 2026, the “Kayne West” TikTok page popped up as a homage to his ex-wife, and people wondered if it was really him or a fake account.
Each video had videos and pictures from their time together with captions, “life when I still had Kim lol” and “will always protect you.”
Since he refers to himself as “Ye,” it’s not unlikely that West was hacked; however, there’s always the possibility that it’s him based on his social media history. It wouldn’t be a shock if it were him, especially since now his name is all over the media once again.
West is like Trisha Paytas in the way he can’t ever really be cancelled because this behavior is quite common for him and people seem to just expect it.
