Host Trick-O-Treating On Your Floor

RA’s are always looking for fun bonding activities to do with residents, try and pitch this idea and hope they can coordinate it. If not get together with your floor in an agreement that each dorm provides candy towards the trick-o-treating. Aim for a specific time period when the most people are at their dorms and create a maximum amount in which people are allowed to take!

Look Out For Halloween Movies on Campus This Tuesday from 6pm- 9pm there will be a “Halloween Fright Night Movie” hosted by Res Life and Campus Dining. The night will feature “The Blair Witch Project” at 7pm. Free admission and free popcorn plus a movie is the perfect incentive to take a study break. In addition the event is outside of House in the gazebo so you can buy as much junk food your movie night requires!

Decorate Spooky Crafts For Your Dorm

Rather than spending a lot of money for decorations at Michael’s that you are unlikely to keep, DIY! Using recycled materials such as cardboard you can easily make crafts with paint and glitter that are customizable towards your own interests. Whether it ghosts and pumpkins every little decoration can make you feel at home when you cant be there to decorate your own house!

DIY Halloween Costumes With Roommate(s)

Be a little thrifty! Some adventurous costumes require a little customization and cannot be bought in stores. If you’re feeling risky then try making your own set of Angel wings to be a Victoria Secret model. If you want to play on an inside joke with your roommate do a personalized costume that maybe only you both understand and laugh about… for my dorm it’s the United Nations representing our country of origin because all of us have very different backgrounds.

Watch 13 Nights of Halloween on ABC

The premier for the 13 nights debuts on October 19th! This year the movie times are spread throughout the day instead of just nighttime. Ranging from 1pm to midnight there is a way for you to get your Halloween fix in between classes or post study session! Featuring movies such as Hocus Pocus, Matilda, The Adams Family and various Tim Burton movies you can enjoy time bundled up with your roommates for a mild scare. Bonus option is binge-watching on the movie packed Saturdays and Sundays, which sometimes feature up to 8 movies!

Make Halloween Treats

Even though this section could be an article by itself I’ll adequately stress the importance. This is the time of the year where your building will start to permanently smell like confectioners sugar. Don’t be the person who simply smells the goodness but partake! Baking ghosts and witches hats is both delicious and the perfect Instagram opportunity. #TooSweetToBeScary

Go and see the world kids and fall in love with your major like Ali and Noah from the Notebook fell in love with each other.
