How to Be a Morning Person

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

Let’s face it, for most of us, those couple of minutes between our alarm going off and getting out of bed are the hardest part of the day. Why would you want to go to school or work when you can stay snuggled up in your warm bed?

As good as that idea of staying in bed sounds, life doesn’t stop and we should too. Here are a few simple tips on how to make your mornings a lot brighter!

1. Ditch the annoying alarm sound and settle for a relaxing upbeat tone.

No one, and I mean no one, likes the annoying and loud alarm clock sound. To brighten up your mood, select a more upbeat tone. Remember you want to start your day with energy!

2. Stretch

We tend to sleep next to our phones, so it’s only natural to check our notifications and social media as siib as we wake up. Instead, try waking up and stretching! You want to make sure your blood is flowing properly since you’ve been asleep for hours.

3. Warm showers are the best.

What’s a better way to wake up than a soothing warm shower? Sing in the shower if you want to, trust me, there’s no one to stop you!

4. Don’t skip breakfast!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! You want to start the day with energy and you can’t do that on an empty stomach. Try making a simple meal if you’re in a rush, such as eggs and toast, or fruits and bacon. There are lots of great recipes you can look up on how to make breakfast and smoothie bowls. 5. Prepare for your morning the night before.

You might not have enough time to prepare for your day when you wake up and you don’t want to stress yourself out. Complete any tasks you can the night before, even if you have to go to bed an hour or two late. You want to have enough time in the morning to eat, take a shower, get dressed or whatever else you do.

Following these quick tips will help you make your mornings a lot calmer and brighter! You want your mornings to be stress-free so you can start your day with a burst of energy.
