Exploring the World of Harry Potter

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

Over the summer, I went on a week long adventure to visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter as well as the other sections of Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. As a graduation gift, my mother and I drove to Florida and spent a week exploring Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Wet ‘N Wild, and other Orlando, Florida attractions. Now, just in case any of my fellow Harry Potter fans needed to be reminded how awesome The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is, let me take you on a brief journey.

We got to the park early before any of the rides had even started yet. Looking down at our map, we made our way to where Diagon Alley was located. I looked over at my mother a little confused; we saw King’s Cross Station, the Knight Bus, Grimuald Place, a British phone booth, and a kiosk selling London themed products, but we did not see Diagon Alley. My mother walked up to a park employee and asked where Diagon Alley was. She looked up at us and pointed to a building with a stone exterior and said, “It’s through there.” We were sure she was mistaken but she repeated herself and then continued about her business. So, my mother and I walked toward the building and went inside. Slowly, I started to feel like Harry walking through the wall with Hagrid behind him. I heard the sound of bricks moving and as I stepped forward, an entirely new world appeared before my eyes.

And for the rest, pictures speak a thousand words. Right?
