Campus Couture: Yelez Alakas ’14

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

Yelez Alakas ’14

Major: Broadcast Journalism

Hometown: Lindenhurst, NY

Where did you get the pieces for your outfit?
Sweater is from my sister’s closet! Everything else is American Apparel. I work there, and that’s where I’m going after class.

What is your fashion staple? Anything high-waisted!

Favorite Places to shop: American Apparel and Free People : It’s expensive but I just go straight to the sales rack.

What is your clothing obsession, or something you can’t help but buy: Dresses. I just bought one the other day. I buy them when I don’t even need one.

Favorite thing about having to dress for winter now: Layering! Like dresses with scarves and socks, especially over-the-knee ones.

With the holiday’s coming up, what is your approach to dressing for the occasion? I am just about go buy a new 70’s style mint green dress. You don’t need a lot of make up or really nice hair, as long as you have a dress and cute shoes, you’re good to go.
