Do you absolutely love fall? It seems like the moment the temperatures drop below 70, there’s a chill in the air and the leaves start to change colors; the excitement for fall appears in all of us. What is it about this season that is so incredibly alluring? The decorations, the weather, Halloween, pumpkin carving, apple picking, movie watching and warm drink-drinking. When starting to list all of these exciting fall activities and vibes, a certain color scheme can be pin-pointed. The fall season is in full swing and the vibes are very much present, what are you doing to embrace the fall energy?

In college, a lot of people choose to reinvent themselves, their hair, personality, or style. If you’re looking to channel the fall vibes in your brand new college fits, these are some key color schemes to showcase.

Greens, browns and beiges compliment each other very well, and imitate the contrasting greens and browns of the changing leaves of fall. The beige is added as a neutral color to balance out the deepness of the green and brown tones.

Brown or beige corduroy pants paired with a forest green cardigan and a neutral toned basic shirt underneath is just one example of an outfit that could come from this color scheme.

Orange, off-white and burgundy are another three colors that are great fall-like colors, especially when paired together. You can no doubt mix and match the greens and browns from the previous color scheme with these darker colors. The orange and burgundy colors compliment each other as similar shades of the same reddish-orange. It just screams Halloween, pumpkins, crunchy leaves and Thanksgiving Dinner.

A thick plaid print coat paired with a off-white turtleneck over top dark wash jeans or burgundy slacks is an example of a super cute fall fit using this “orangey” color scheme.

Purple, white and black are three colors that break out of the typical fall color scheme, yet still emit the spooky vibes of Halloween. The color purple is often associated with evil and villains, perfect for the spooky season. The colors white and black are simply accents in this color scheme to make the purple stand out as the main focus.

An example of this color scheme executed in an outfit is shown in the image above. Another creative example is a pairing of black tights under a black skirt, with a dark purple sweater top. This color scheme not only exudes a villainous aura, but also simply creates a good looking outfit that doesn’t necessarily conform to the typical orange and beige color scheme of fall.

You can now use some of these base-line fall color schemes to not only curate October and November outfits, but also put together fall decorations or utilize the color schemes in any other way to get into the fall vibes.
