Valentine’s Day is all about spending time with the people you love, and it can be hard when your sweetheart is hours away from you when the day rolls around. These are some ideas to help make your V-Day special even when you can’t be with your valentine!
Set up a video chat dinner (or coffee break)
Make time to see each other’s faces on Valentine’s Day! You can have a virtual date, where you both eat dinner on FaceTime or Skype. If you have opposing dinner schedules, try having a little coffee date via video chat, and if that isn’t possible, try to squeeze in a quick call whenever.
If possible, send a V-Day care package
Put their favorite candy, a card, and any other little gifts they may like into a package and mail it to them. You can even arrange for fresh flowers or treats to be delivered to them on the 14th. This will serve as a sweet surprise to let them know you miss them!

Set up a “fake Valentine’s Day”
If you know when you’ll see your sweetie next, set up a “fake” or “make-up” Valentine’s Day. You could make reservations somewhere, or plan to see a movie, whatever kind of V-Day date you would’ve liked to have on the 14th, just later on!
Send cute texts to each other all day
This one isn’t for everybody, but some people like to get cute texts from their S.O. throughout the day. You could send them cute pics of the two of you together, or meme Valentine’s cards from Instagram, or just send little compliments to let them know you love them! Maybe even post a picture of the two of you with a caption saying how much you miss and love them. Little reminders go a long way!
Don’t be afraid to get spicy
Long distance is hard on everyone, and some couples definitely miss all of the ~sexy~ Valentine’s Day activities. Don’t be afraid to send a saucy pic to your bae or even text them something hot! It can be fun and intimate, and if you and your partner are comfortable with it, you can feel like you’re close to them even when you’re apart.

Show your bae-far-away that you care on V-Day! It can be really sad when you see couples spending time together, especially when your better half is not physically with you, but it doesn’t mean the two of you can’t enjoy the day and celebrate your love.
