This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

Like 2020 wasn’t scary enough, Halloween is right around the corner, and we have the horror movies you and your significant other should be watching. Horror is the best genre to get cozy with your partner and take it from us these movies will definitely have you cuddling in close.

“Halloween” (1978)

Let’s start with the classics! Who doesn’t want to watch the scream queen in her breakout role for an hour and 42 minutes? Make sure to check out the original “Halloween” in all of its 1978 glory, or else Michael Myers might decide to give you your own horror flick this Halloween.

“Scream” (1996)

Ghostface has become an iconic symbol in the horror world, so it’s only fitting that this is on our list. If you don’t watch it for all of the 90’s cheesy dialogue at least watch it for the homages to all the other old school horror movies out there.

“The Boy” (2016)

Creepy dolls? Yes, please! So many of the best horror movies have been surrounding the concept of possessed dolls. So there’s no excuse not to add this spine-chiller to the horror movie marathon.

“Sinister” (2012)

It’s probably time to amp up the sinister factor on your Halloween watchlist. Witnessing this film will make you realize what Halloween is truly about, sacrificing children to a demonic presence. Duh!

“It” (2017)

A list of some iconic horror movies wouldn’t be complete without your average killer clown… No local carnival-goers were harmed in the making of this film.

Are you and your significant other holding onto each other for dear life in fear? Then consider the goal achieved! The only scary thing left in 2020 is if you don’t have someone to snuggle up with and complete this awesome list.
