5 Creative Halloween Group Costumes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

The only thing better then arriving to your Halloween destination in your perfect costume is having your friends complete your outfit by joining in on a group costume idea! The possibilities are endless and it will add that extra spark to any dull costume. Here are some ideas for you and your crew to go with this Halloween Season:

1. Game of Thrones

There’s something for everyone in the cast of Game of Thrones. You can choose characters based on couples, hair color, attitudes and so much more. There are hundreds of costume tutorials you can find for this cast online and after heading to the mall or your local thrift store you would be all set. This group costume would be a bit more on the higher difficulty end but if you and your friends were willing to commit you would be the talk of the party!

2. Superheroes

Much like the Game of Thrones idea this costume is a little bit more on the involved side, it’s likely that you and your friends would have to head to a Halloween store to really make this costume really stand out. You have so many options for characters and you could even choose to be villains too!

3. Disney Princesses

Who doesn’t want to be a princess – even if it’s just for a night? It would be so easy to turn these classic Disney characters in to college appropriate costumes from something you probably already have in your closet. Head to the mall for a few headband or tiara accessories and you’re all set. Don’t forget to blast your favorite Disney tunes while you and your girls are getting ready!

4. Zoo Animals

A quick trip to the nearest Halloween store is all you need for this idea. There are a bunch of ears, tails, masks, etc. for animal costumes and you and your friends can go as different ones to complete the theme. As for your outfit it’s likely that amongst your friends you all already own something for your specific animals. This costume is more about the accessories than the outfit- don’t be afraid to use face paint for whiskers and noses to add that extra touch!

5. M & M’s

This costume idea is probably as easy as it gets! All you and your friends need to do is grab a solid colored shirt from your closet and use duct tape or taped on paper to create the M on the front of your shirt. The more people you have with this one the more impressive it will be and you don’t even have to stick with the classic colors- get creative! You can also tweak this idea through accessories to go as skittles, gummy bears, nerds, starbursts and any other sweet multi colored treat you can think of!
