1. Colorful or Cute Coats

They don’t have to be bulky to be warm! Wool and fleece can be super warm without being too large and outfit-destroying. Anything that cinches at the waist is great! (Especially coats with a nice belt or bow.) Coats are such a good opportunity to put some color into the drab winter months. Red, green, blue, pink! All fantastic.

“I love big sweaters and fun scarves to offset monotonous coats. Also knee-highs and leggings peeping out of the tops of boots.” – Alex Ubalde 17′ Drama Major

“Fleece leggings are a must have! You can pair them with cozy sweaters or wear them under dresses, and you’ll still be warm.” – Geena Forristall 15′ Drama Production Major

2. Big Warm Sweaters

Big sweaters with fun scarves and leggings are an absolute MUST. I get most of my big sweaters at thrift stores, H&M, and Forever 21. It’s a great way to stay warm and look cute with minimal effort. My go-to outfit it a baggy sweater with fleece-lined leggings!

“I’m REALLY big on sweaters, boot cuffs, cute scarves and wearing my hair up in a messy bun with a cute headband that covers the ears. I also wear tights under my jeans or leggings to layer.” – Amanda Price 17′ Drama and Public Relations Major

3. Warm Accessories

These extra winter accessories are an absolute necessity to stay warm and protected in these snowy times. Headbands with bows are really cute and will definitely keep your ears warm. Hats are great for any day when it’s windy (or you just don’t feel like doing your hair.) Scarves are the perfect way to stay warm and add personality to your outfits! You should also have a few pairs of gloves. (At least one pair should be texting gloves. They are absolutely necessary for multi-tasking and walks to class.) Gloves get lost and wet and having some backups is a must.

“Scarves and hats are a must. Cute neutral beanies go with everything and almost every hairstyle. I like the fitted cloth hats with a little brim for an extra punch of style.” – Jenna Davi 15′ Drama Major

“Giant scarves, earmuffs, and my Doc Martens boots. [Also] skinny jeans or any jean I can roll up to keep out of the snow are awesome and efficient/warm.” – Taylor Riordan 17′ Drama Production Major

4. Waterproof Boots Are A Must

Boots! Boots! Boots! Anything high and waterproof is good. Riding boots, combat boots, UGGs, Hunter Boots. But it must be waterproof to survive the snow. I usually go for something leather-y. I love leg warmers and high socks peeking out of the top of boots. It’s extra comfy and extra cute!

“I wear high boots and then I usually wear knee-high socks with them for extra warmth and style!” – Samantha Weinstein 15′ Marketing Major

“I like beanies and LL Bean boots with tall socks. Also sweaters with vests on top.” – Kelley Fitzpatrick 16′ Drama Production Major
