As those hot summer days get cooler, the brisk air of fall is slowly creeping in. I don’t know about you, but I love fall weather. Being able to layer pieces, wear oversized sweaters, hats, and booties makes fall one of my favorite times of year for fashion. Some of the trends this season are being recycled from last fall and winter, but they’re definitely still worth talking about. So, without further ado, let’s get into the four fall trends you need to have in your closet this year.
Cardigans
As I mentioned earlier, layering is a huge part of fall fashion. It’s not only convenient to help you stay warm, but it’s also a great way to mix up your wardrobe and play around with what’s already in your closet, and cardigans are the perfect fall clothing item to do that with. They come in all lengths and colors, from ones that fall at your hip, to ones that go all the way down to your ankles. There’s definitely a cardigan out there for you that you can pair with plenty of different outfits this season. Plus, you can dress them up or down!
Choker Sweaters, Cold Shoulders, and Cut Outs
These can all count as the same trend because they all have a similar concept. Choker sweaters are nothing new, and neither are cold shoulders, but this season, some stores have been more creative in the way they’re going about it. Whether it be a shirt with multiple slits in the sleeves, or a sweater with a detachable choker, this is something we’ll definitely be seeing a lot of as the months turn cooler.
Cropped Hoodies and Sweaters
No stranger to the fashion world, cropped hoodies and sweaters are perfect for those days where you want to throw on a pair of high-waisted leggings, feel comfortable, and still look cute. Tons of brands are going for this look, and it’s a sure way to keep cozy, but fashionable, this fall.
Velvet
And finally, a newer trend this fall season is velvet everything. From shirts to shoes to coats, velvet is making its way onto the fashion scene. It’s the perfect way to look classy, but still keep warm. Not to mention, it’s the perfect type of piece that you can roam the city streets with during the day and then go out to a fancy dinner at night in!
