Halloween is right around the corner. For anyone who is participating in Halloweekend this year, that means there is a need for multiple costumes. Thankfully, 2022 has been a year full of major pop culture moments that can easily be transformed into costumes for this year.
1. the Euphoria characters
With Euphoria Season 2 premiering at the beginning of this year, the HBO favorite brought back some of our favorite characters in an all new wardrobe. This idea could serve as a group costume, like replicating the girls’ Halloween looks or their outfits at Maddie’s birthday. You could also use it as inspiration for a couple’s costume, Rue and Jules or Lexi and Fez. If you are going solo, any of the characters could give you the perfect costume, like Maddie’s cut out party dress or Cassie’s country music star look.
2. Stranger things season 4
Another show that made a comeback this year was Stranger Things. With Season 4 premiering in two parts this summer, it had everyone hooked. A group costume could range from all six kids (Eleven, Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin and Max) to including the older group (Steve, Nancy, Jonathon, and Robin). One of the most recognizable moments of the season being Max’s escape from Vecna with Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” playing the background could also lend itself to an easy solo costume. If you have a blue zip up, striped t-shirt and jeans that you can pair with her iconic portable walkman, you are set!
3. Catwoman
Robert Pattinson’s performance in The Batman was a big movie moment this past March, but Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman brought a new look to the character that we would love to see replicated.
4. Alice in don’t worry darling
Florence Pugh served multiple 50s inspired outfits as Alice Chambers throughout Don’t Worry Darling alongside Harry Style’s character, Jack Chambers. Any 50s style dress with a teased half-up half-down hairstyle would be the perfect combo to recreate Alice’s looks. Not to mention the perfect couple’s costume could be either versions of Alice and Jack (wink wink).
5. the sanderson sisters
With our favorite witch trio returning this year, the perfect trio costume for this Halloween would be the Sanderson Sisters of Hocus Pocus (and Hocus Pocus 2).
6. Wednesday addams
In anticipation of Netflix’s Wednesday Addams premiering on November 23, the perfect simple costume for anyone with dark hair is Wednesday. Jenna Ortega brings a new life to this beloved character and with that comes a new look. From what we have seen so far, all you need to recreate this look is a black dress with a white collar and Wednesday’s classic two braids.
7. margot robbie’s barbie
Another new interpretation of a classic character we are all dying to see is Margot Robbie as Barbie which is set on premiering in 2023. However, the paparazzi shots of Robbie and costar Ryan Gosling at Venice Beach have given us a pre-look at their costumes that would be perfect for this Halloween. From the roller-skating 90s neon jumpsuit to the all pink vest and bell bottoms, Margot’s Barbie looks so far have been inspiring.
8. kate sharma and anthony bridgerton
Bridgerton Season 2 followed Anthony, the eldest Bridgerton, and Kate Sharma’s complicated love story. These two would make the perfect couple’s costume for those who want to go all out with elegance this year. Their regal period outfits are the perfect inspiration for a more dressed-up costume.
9. elvis
Austin Butler’s portrayal of Elvis Presley in Elvis has given everyone a new obsession with all things Presley this year. The perfect couple’s costume being Elvis and Priscilla from the movie in any of their iconic looks.
10. harry styles
From Harry’s House releasing in May to the whirlwind that was the Don’t Worry Darling press tour, Harry Styles has had A TON of iconic moments this year. Some of his most memorable outfits that you could recreate include the red jumpsuit from the As It Was music video, his blouse and baggy jeans look on the cover of Harry’s House, and ANY of his Love On Tour outfits this year.
