Your favorite, erotic, reckless and of course shameless family from Chicago is coming back to Showtime with its 8th season on November 5th at 9 p.m. Here are ten fun facts about the cast of Shameless.

 

Emmy Rossum, who plays the oldest sister, Fiona Gallagher, on the hit television show demanded equal pay as her co-star William H. Macy in 2017. Rossum threatened to leave the show if Warner Brothers Television did not provide her with a new contract with equal pay according to the Hollywood Reporter.

William H. Macy, who plays the substance-abusing patriarch of the Gallagher clan, Frank Gallagher, pursued veterinary school before pursuing his career in acting. Macy has won and been nominated for multiple Oscars, Emmys, and other awards for his acting abilities.

Ethan Cutkosky, better known as one of the younger Gallagher rascals, actually attended high school back in Chicago in order to pursue an education and a normal life, according to the Chicago Tribune. He films in Los Angeles when for the show and sometimes in Chicago but wanted to stay close to home and further his education at St. Charles East High School.

Jeremy Allen White plays the on-screen heartthrob Phillip or “Lip” Gallagh​er on the show.  The Brooklyn-native trained as a dancer growing up and is passionate about jazz, ballet, and tap. He continues to dance but does not perform professionally.

Cameron Monaghan plays the gay, half-brother of the Gallagher clan named Ian. During his audition for the movie The Giver, Monaghan fell through a wall in the casting office and left a large hole in the shape of his body behind. Despite the accident, Monaghan landed the role of Asher.

Emma Kenney who plays the teenage mother Debbie Gallagher in the show is a New York- native raised in Manhattan. Kenney became the youngest filmmaker in 2009 to be accepted into the New Jersey International Film Festival, according to TV Guide.

Joan Cusack plays the agoraphobic mother named Sheila Jackson. Cusack is actually the voice of Jessie the Yodeling Cowgirl in the Toy Story movies. Cusack has appeared in multiple classical films including Say Anything and Working Girl.

Steve Howey, who plays the local bar owner/ husband and father of two Kevin Ball, is now being sued by his former nanny for alleged verbal abuse of her Muslim beliefs and practices displayed within his household as well as wrongful termination.

Shanola Hampton plays the sexy and witty character of Veronica Fisher on the show Shameless. She auditioned for the show while she was on set of a former show in the same studio where she was playing hospital employee. She changed on the golf cart on her way to the audition from scrubs into a pair of jeans and low cut top in hopes of landing the role. She succeeded and became the free-spirited and sassy neighbor of the Gallagher family.

Isidora Goreshter who plays the Russian prostitute Svetlana and “wife” of Veronica and Kevin, is not only an actress on the show but an assistant director for the show as well.
