Orientation Week kicked off the fall semester, and we got to meet new freshmen as well as old friends. SUB (the English students’ subject organization) got their freshmen piling up into all sorts of pretzels during its famous Amazing Race. The massive downpour didn’t hinder anyone’s party spirit, and everyone seemed to have a good laugh over the games and acrobatics.

Of course, Orientation Week was only the start to the festivities and now we have many other events coming up: Opening Carnival was the official start to the semester with speeches from the faculty and the clamor of freshmen while they seaches for the coolest overall patches and the shortest lines to the calendars, HKL travel cards and stickers for student cards. Different organizations and clubs all around the university got a chance to present themselves to the new students and, again, despite the weather the event drew in a big crowd.

The music performances, sport events and the open street sitsis most likely showed some of the most interesting parts of student life. This was the perfect opportunity to get to know some of the different student activities one might want to join later on. But fear not, there are the freshmen parties, sitsis and career events (plus, oh so many other things) still coming up during the fall, so even if you missed the orientation or the Opening Carnival, everyone can still easily catch up and find their niche and place in the university world.

Welcome again to all the new freshmen to our school!
