The Life of an Education Major as told by New Girl

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Gustavus chapter.

Applying to the Ed program at your school and getting accepted.

Realizing that means waking up for 8 a.m.’s five days a week.

When part of your class time includes going to different schools and interacting with students.

But when you get to the schools, you see how wild the kids are.

Trying to decide if you could really teach middle schoolers one day.

Practicing lesson planning and having an emotional breakdown.

You hear yourself repeating the phrase “as a future educator” to all your friends every time they do something absurd.

Coming home Friday after a long week of class and doing one of two things.

All the while knowing that you’ll have a positive impact on the lives of every student you meet.
