Thank You

Maya Angelou once wrote, “Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer. And let faith be the bridge you build to overcome evil and welcome good.”  Gratitude is the foundation for one’s greatness. When one emits thankfulness and positivity into the environment, it is openly received and great things are immediately returned.

Everyone knows how hectic life can get. However, it’s important to slow down. Breathe in and breathe out. Look unto the world through a grateful perspective and watch as good things are attracted to you. Make it a habit to exemplify your gratitude at least three times a day. Personally, I keep a gratitude journal solely dedicated to showcasing my thankfulness. I’ll journal at the beginning and end of each day to create a flow of gratitude and remain positive about what’s to come and what has occurred in my day.  An example of prompts include: Why you’re grateful for your upbringing, why you’re grateful for your support system, who in your life inspires you, and many other prompts that you can relate to.

The challenge here is identifying something new everyday and being descriptive in why you are grateful. It’s essential for one to assess what they are putting their energy into. This will allow you to decipher your current state and what you are unconsciously attracting.

So, my parting message is to always be thankful. Give thanks to those around you and let them know you truly appreciate the role that they have in your life. Every role is needed and no one should feel as if they are unworthy or not having an impact on those around them. Tell the people around you thank you!  It is a simple saying that goes a long way.
