Four Hairstyles To Help You Slay For Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at GSU chapter.

With spring break slowly approaching, it is a time for fun and relaxation in the sun. If you do not want to worry about your hair, here are five simple and easy styles for you.

  1. Box Braids: Thanks to Janet Jackson in “Poetic Justice,” box braids are now the go-to style for spring and summer. You can throw them it in a cute, high top bun or ponytail. Just be sure to spray your braids down with a moisturizer and tie them up at night to keep them nice and neat.

  1. Crochet: Crochet has been around since the early 1990’s, but is now reemerging as the new protective style for natural women. Crochet is very versatile with styles ranging from braids, twists, faux locs or even curly hair. At night, be sure to tie them up with your satin scarf.

  1. Feed in Cornrows: A style that has been around for centuries and is currently also re emerging. They are called “feed in” because the extension hair is added/fed in gradually while cornrowing instead of all at once making the cornrows look natural. On your spring break trip, all you need is a satin scarf to keep this look neat and smooth.

  1. Curly Sew-ins: Sew-in’s they say are a girl’s best friend. Curly hair sew-ins are perfect for spring break because you can get them wet and not have to worry about flat ironing or styling your hair. Just remember to detangle at night with a leave in conditioner, plait your hair into four big braids and tie down with a satin scarf.

Any of these four hairstyles will make sure you slay on your spring break trip while you are having fun in the sun!
