This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Georgia Southern chapter.

Name: Lauren Gentry

Age: 20

Hometown: Augusta, Georgia

Graduation Date: Fall 2017

Major/Minor: Business Marketing Major with a Minor in Spanish

Dream Job: Marketing Director of a large international corporation

Relationship Status: In a relationship

Zodiac Sign: Aries

Turn On: An awesome sense of humor. I’m really sarcastic, so I love when a guy can keep up with my jokes.

Turn Off/Deal breaker(s): Being pretentious or self-absorbed. I can’t stand people who think they’re better than everyone else.

What is something about you that not many people know?

Most people don’t know that I’m actually a huge comic book nerd. I used to read tons of them when I was a kid and even had a t-shirt collection of every Marvel and DC character I could find. Even my room now still has an entire corner decorated with posters, paintings, and drawings of some of my favorite heroes.

If you had a choice to date Bruce Wayne or Clark Kent who would you choose and why?

Ooh, that’s a tough one. I’d probably have to say, Bruce Wayne. I’m in love his deep voice and the air of mystery that surrounds him. And those battle moves would make any girl swoon!

What are some of your favorite pastimes?

One of my absolute favorite things to do is read. I love hanging up my hammock somewhere and relaxing with a good book. It’s a great stress reliever after a tough day of classes.

Which famous quote best describes the way you view life?

Overall, I’d say I’m a happy and optimistic person. But when times get tough, I often refer to this verse to give me hope: “Fear not, for I am with you. I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

Which food do you think you possibly could not live without?

My favorite food that I CANNOT live without is definitely barbecue. A good barbecue sandwich is the key to my heart!

What has been your most embarrassing moment at Georgia Southern University, and how did you overcome it?

My all-time most embarrassing moment happened during the second week of school last year. I was a freshman and had just moved into Eagle Village. It was about 9:30 am on Tuesday morning and all three of my other roommates had left for class. I was taking a shower and getting ready for my 11:00 Spanish class when, halfway through my shower, I realized that I had left my keys and my phone on my bed, thereby stupidly locking myself out of my own bedroom. Seeing as none of my roommates were home and my phone was locked inside my room, I had no other choice but wrap myself up in a towel and try to find help. After attempting to quickly knock on my neighbor’s door for help, it became clear that no one was coming to assist me. So I tightened my towel and braved the journey down to the EV Clubhouse. I walked in the door and ran to the front desk where the incredibly confused worker handed me a spare key. Completely mortified, I thanked her profusely and sprinted back up to my room. Of course, I ran into my super cute neighbor as I was returning back to my room, which makes the whole story even worse. He never looked at me the same way again.

If you had a choice to marry a very handsome tall man with an average salary and a great personality or an average looking guy who is average height with a nonchalant attitude towards everything but happens to be a millionaire, who would you choose and why?

I would most definitely choose the man with the average salary but great personality! To me, money isn’t nearly as important as the happiness found in a true relationship.

I am a junior majoring in Multimedia Journalism. My future goals are to attend The School of Law at Georgia State University, obtain a business administration law degree from there, and pursue my dreams of broadcasting/news reporting in the city of Atlanta. I enjoy watching movies, shopping, and trying new foods. I guess you could call me a typical girl. My hobbies consist of playing the piano for 15 years, playing the violin for eight years, modeling, and pageants. What can I say, I love being in the spotlight, but with my laid back personality you would never think that. I also have a passion for fashion and interior decorating. I absolutely love animals.
