What’s In Her Bag?: Tess Mackey

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at George Mason University chapter.

When I was thirteen years old I asked my parents for a Chanel tote to carry my schoolbooks in.  Marissa Cooper from the OC had one, and I totally thought we were the same person for much of my adolescence-minus the mansions, the overdose in Cabo and the debutant balls.  I am still waiting for that tote, and maybe when I graduate college I will have saved enough money to buy my own.  For now, I am very thankful for the number of beautiful purses that sit in my trunk on a day-to-day basis.  My school bag is currently the brand Deux Lux and I found this gem at TJ Maxx.   This bag holds everything from my planner to my pencil case (yes I have a pencil case by MZ Wallace, I am after all and organizational freak).

On any given day these items fall to the bottom of my oversized purse and get stuck in between my French book or my laptop sleeve.  Lets explore.

I always have my My Agenda planner, which keeps me sane. My crackberry to keep me up to date on facebook, twitter and my emails, one pair of sunglasses-my Ray Bans usually, which have been through hell and back or my Chanel’s which make me feel instantly put together. Some emergency make-up supplies (under eye concealer, blush, eyeliner and rosebud lip salve), bobbi pins are lifesavers and I can often find at least three in one of my side pockets and of course my Coach key ring which holds my credit cards, ids, and coffee money.  Randoms include a bag of almonds or a cereal bar-a girl’s gotta eat, and some sort of tea bag because I am a self diagnosed caffeine addict. Perfume, some pens, sticky notes, and lastly my glasses or contact case because I am legally blind.

Hope you enjoyed my bag-stay tuned next week to see what you find in our next writers bag!
