This Masonette is a student to remember! In addition to being accepting into Mason’s competitive nursing program, Jennelyn Tanedo is an active dance team member and sister of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Tanedo is full of passion and is well on her way to achieving her dreams.
HC: How long have you been a dancer?
Tanedo: I started when I was 4 years old, so I’ve been dancing for 15 years.
HC: What is your favorite thing about being a Masonette?
Tanedo: It’s having a chance to perform and bring entertainment to the Mason community alongside with my fellow teammates. I treat my fellow Masonettes like family.
HC: What are your favorite songs to dance to?
Tanedo: Dancing so long has made me love all types of music. From the beats to the tempos, I constantly dance. However, one typical genre I love most is hip-hop with a little bit of techno, because of my love of grooving to the genre of hip-hop.
HC: Congrats on getting into the nursing program! Has being a nurse always been your dream?
Tanedo: I definitely thought of being a nurse ever since high school, because I want to make a difference in the world. It always warms my heart when I help someone in need or just putting a simple smile on their faces.
HC: What are your goals for after you complete the program?
Tanedo After finishing the Nursing Program, I wish to maybe work in the Emergency Room or work with elderly patients with early signs of dementia. Because of the versatility of specialties in the nursing field, I want to explore my options.
HC: Do you have any advice for future applicants?
Tanedo: My advice is study hard and get involved. Make sure to meet deadlines and always give your 110% in the things you do no matter how difficult or stressful classes or life may be. Always be positive!
