3 Ways to Celebrate the Holiday Season in NOVA

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at George Mason University chapter.

As crazy as it sounds the holiday season is finally here. No matter what holiday you celebrate during these magical months, there are so many exciting things NOVA offers during this time. I’m going to give you the top three best things to do to make sure your holiday season is just right.

1. Holiday Light Show

The best indication of the holiday season is all the wonderful lights and decorations people display. Take a walk through a small winter wonderland hosted by Meadowlarks Botanical Gardens. They transform their entire garden into a winter walk of lights.

2. Ice Skating

What says “holiday season” better than a fun time on the ice? Various areas have brought out their mini outdoor ice skating rinks including Reston Town Center and Tysons Corner. Spend a day ice skating with your family, take your special someone on a date, or enjoy a girls night out. Make sure to end your nippy night on the ice with a warm cup of hot Cocoa.

3. DC Santa Crawl

Costume season isn’t quite over yet. This year on December 10th some of the biggest bars downtown are hosting a Santa bar crawl. Find your cutest holiday apparel and enjoy food specials, discounted drinks, and an awesome refillable Santa mug.

If you want to take a break from cuddling by the fire and watching awesome holiday movies, take some time enjoy your holidays in a different way. Happy Holidays!!
