When my suitemate ran into the room with her package screaming about how her fat suit had finally come, I knew that it would be an interesting night.

Originally, she had bought it for a Halloween costume, but when she got it, she realized that while it was funny, she would probably never get into any parties wearing it. Thus, the fat suit would become simply a silly outfit to try on.

Obviously, my friend was the first to try it on. It made a lot of noise as air blew throughout the suit. She stood with her arms wide to get the air flowing faster.

We were already in hysterics because she was starting to look like Violet Beauregarde from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, but it was when my suitemate tried to do random tasks in the suit that really made us start dying.

She first started walking around, which in itself was an experience. She had to turn sideways to fit through the door. Then, she started dancing and trying to squat. At that point, we all had tears running down our faces.

The fat suit made its way around for a few more people to try on until it was finally my turn to put it on. I also did the same moves, but they thought that since I was smaller, I looked like I was swallowed by a giant blueberry. Therefore, my turn was one of the funniest.

I was squatting in this picture so I look like I was completely taken over by the fat suit.

As I was laughing with my friends, I began to realize that this was exactly what we needed at the time. We all get very stressed out about classes and all of our other responsibilities, so a good laugh was exactly what we needed.

The fat suit also showed me that it’s okay to do stupid things with your friends. None of us were hurt in the suit so we had nothing to worry about. It just made us all happy. Although putting on a fat suit is not the most normal or productive activity, we were able to bond over our shared experience.

While I would recommend buying a fat suit to have your own kinds of fun in it, the main point that I want to emphasize is to have a night of spontaneity and silly activities with your friends.

So, go out this weekend and do something stupid, but legal of course!
