Here’s a rundown of all the bombs that have been found across the United States over the past week and a half.
If you have not heard, there is a serious issue in the country going on from coast to coast. Several bomb threats have been reported and there are some really weird targets in the mix. (NBCNews)
Each package has arrived at their varied locations in mail envelopes with a bunch of stamps, some of which had the American flag on them. What was more alarming was their contents: pipe bombs wrapped in black tape with wires coming out on each end. (independent.co)
Good news, none of the bombs have gone off and no one has been injured throughout any of the incidents. Including the clearing of the CNN building when a threat was reported in their New York headquarters.
1. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
The bomb was addressed to Ms. Clinton at hers and Bill Clinton’s house in Chappaqua, New York. Secret Service reported that the Clintons did not receive the packages and are not put at risk due to the extensive screening procedures their packages go through.
2. Former President Barrack Obama
Another package was sent to the Obamas’ residence in Washington. The package was similar to the others reported so it is speculated that they are coming from the same individual. The same was true for Obama in terms of security as was true for Clinton. He was not put into any contact with the package because of Secret Service’s procedures.
3. Former Attorney General Eric Holder
As this continues to sound like a weird episode of Scandal or House of Cards, the FBI reported that the country’s chief law enforcement officer, who served most of the time Obama was in the house, Eric Holder, also was meant to receive one of these suspicious packages but it was sent to the incorrect address. 4. Former CIA Director John Brennan at the CNN headquarters
Causing the evacuation of CNN’s headquarters in New York City was the package addressed to John Brennan. He is the former CIA Director who often opposes President Trump on TV. Again, this package looked like the others and law enforcement stated that it was a messy but functioning bomb.
5. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif.
Another was sent to Democratic Representative Maxine Waters. She is another very outspoken liberal party member.
6. Billionaire George Soros
He is a billionaire and major contributor to the Democratic party. A device was found at his place in New York as well.
7. Robert De Nero
Sent to his downtown Manhattan office was yet another package. Actor Robert De Nero is another very liberal individual who expressed hatred to Trump in his Tony acceptance speech last June. (the Guardian)
8. Debbie Wasserman Schultz
Another receiver of packages was representative Debbie Schultz. She was the chairwoman of Democratic National Committee who was accused of boosting Clinton’s party in 2016.
10. Joe Bidden
And yet another package was found in a postal facility in Delaware addressed to former Vice President Joe Biden.
The common denominator has been that the targets are outwardly liberal. Law enforcement officials have found a primary suspect in Cesar Sayoc who was tracked down using fingerprint samples, DNA and mobile phone data. This is a developing story that we should all be aware of.
