This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

In case you were busy with classes, waiting for your textbooks to be shipped or you weren’t caught up with recent celebrity news, Machine Gun Kelly, also known as Colson Baker, proposed to Megan Fox on Tuesday, Jan. 11. The newly engaged couple announced the news to their fans and the world on Instagram. They got engaged during a recent trip to Puerto Rico.

An insider told US News, “She had no idea it was coming,” and that “the two performed a ritual involving their blood to symbolize the two of them becoming one.” Not to forget that Machine Gun Kelly fans have turned his outfit into a hilarious meme after his engagement to Megan Fox, over his top being very similar to a Foot Locker employee one. Foot Locker jumped in and commented, “To be clear, Machine Gun Kelly requested off that day.”

Megan Fox captioned an Instagram video of the proposal on Wednesday, Jan. 12. “In July of 2020 we sat under this banyan tree. We asked for magic. We were oblivious to the pain we would face together in such a short, frenetic period of time. Unaware of the work and sacrifices the relationship would require from us but intoxicated off of the love. And the karma.”

She continued, “Somehow a year and a half later, having walked through hell together, and having laughed more than I ever imagined possible, he asked me to marry him. And just as in every lifetime before this one, and as in every lifetime that will follow it, I said yes. …and then we drank each other’s blood 1.11.22.”

On the other side, Machine Gun Kelly wrote in his post, “’Yes, in this life and every life’💍 beneath the same branches we fell in love under, I brought her back to ask her to marry me.”

“I know tradition is one ring, but I designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: the emerald (her birth stone) and the diamond (my birth stone) set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love. 1-11-2022 ✨,” he added.

Let’s take a minute to shed light on the two-stone engagement ring. Machine Gun Kelly wrote in his Instagram caption, “I know tradition is one ring, but I designed it with Stephen Webster to be two.” The emerald stone is Megan Fox’s birthstone, and the diamond is his birthstone and it’s “set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love.” Gemologist Olivia Landeau told Us Weekly in a statement, “Toi et Moi (two stone) rings have been a huge trend over the past two years.” According to the Clear Cut founder “Her stones look to be around 2-2.5ct each in size,” noting that depending on the quality, a similar ring could cost from $50,000 to $75,000.

According to People‘s website, an insider said that Fox “loved the proposal” and “thought it was beautiful and perfect.” They added, “She is excited to get married.”
