Whether you spent your spring break traveling the world or in bed binging all the latest Netflix shows, the first week back to school always feels like a slap in the face. Eyes fixated outside your classroom window, you reminisce on all your spring break adventures and start the count-down for summer. While summer’s less than two months away, you might still find it hard to get motivated. Here are some much-needed tips to get yourself moving when the post-spring break blues set in.

Catch Up on Sleep

If you traveled out of your time zone chances are sleep is a luxury you didn’t get much of during spring break. Grab your comfiest pajamas and an eye mask and hit the snooze button. Regardless of how you spent your spring break, sleep is always a good idea, and let’s be real — if you spent your break binge-watching Netflix, you probably need the sleep just as much as anyone else.

Plan Neighborhood Adventures

Did spring break only make your desire to travel stronger? Try exploring your local area. Not only will you stumble across cute finds, but you’ll also help your wallet recover from the brutal dent spring break put in it. Whether it’s exploring local parks, like Oven Parks, or reminiscing your city days by grabbing coffee at All Saints and then exploring the galleries at Railroad Square Art Park, you can make memories that don’t require a plane ticket to a distant city.

Get in Touch

Traveling is a great way to meet new people, so make sure all those new connections don’t go to waste. Get in touch with all the friends you made over spring break, even if they live across the globe. Spending some time thinking about all the amazing memories you made, and maybe even planning your next trip, will help get rid of the post-spring break blues.

Goal Check-In

We’re already a quarter of the way through the year and chances are if your New Year’s resolutions haven’t already crashed and burned, they’re starting to slip. Channel your post-spring break blues into motivation and work towards accomplishing your goals. Before going all in, make sure to re-evaluate your goals to ensure that they are still relevant to what you want. If they are, you can start scheduling goal checks.

Hang out with Friends

Catch up with all the friends you missed over spring break. Swap spring break stories over brunch, have a movie night at the ASLC or spend the night out on the town. Nothing makes you more excited to be home then your friends or family.

However you decide to cope with the post-spring break blues, just remember that you don’t need to spend your life waiting for spring break/summer vacation to have the time of your life. You can make every day an adventure!
