I don’t know about you, but I am so excited to be back on campus this year. After a long summer of working full-time, spending time with family, and enjoying my hometown, I’m so ready to be back at FSU. Fall at FSU means football games, traditions, and spontaneous plans with friends. With so much to look forward to, here are eight things at the top of my FSU bucket list!
- Watch Movies at the ASLC

I’ve never been much of a movie person, but these past few years I’ve been watching them more than ever. This year, I want to utilize our movie theater on campus more. It’s so crazy to me that FSU has its own movie theater.
I remember seeing it for the first time during orientation, and I was blown away. I’ve only ever watched one movie there, and it was Hotel Transylvania. This year I want to change that and actually take advantage of having a movie theater right on campus. Plus, movies are free for FSU students, so I really have no excuse.
- Experience Halloween

We all know about Tallyween and how essential it is to being an FSU student. Unfortunately, I went home for Halloween last year, and I regret it. This year, I already have my Halloween outfit picked out and my plans ready. I’m taking Tallyween seriously this year!
- Go to the Flying High Circus

Speaking of Halloween, the FSU Flying High Circus puts on an amazing Halloween show, or so I’ve heard. Last year I waited in line for two hours and never got in, but I did meet some amazing people while waiting in line.
That goes to show you that sometimes just being out and about on campus is the best way to make friends. This year I want to make sure I get to go to the circus, even if it means buying a ticket; I already learned my lesson from last year.
- Have a Picnic on Landis Green

I walk through Landis every day that I’m on campus, but I rarely actually stop to enjoy it. I did have a small picnic with one of my friends last year, and it was so much fun. There’s something so college about grabbing food with your friends and enjoying a night on Landis.
Watching the sunset, playing sports, and relaxing sounds like the perfect night to me. I feel like this is one of those little things that I’ll miss the most about my college experience.
- Make the Most of the Football Season

Football season is, dare I say, the most important time of the year. Even when our team doesn’t do well, we rally together and have so much school spirit. Coming from a high school with no school spirit, it was so important to me to attend a college with spirit. I absolutely love everything about game days.
This year, I want to take my outfits more seriously, tailgate with friends, go to more games, and really enjoy everything that college football season has to offer. There’s nothing quite like seeing the entire campus come alive on game day, and I want to make the most of it this year.
- Try a Vice Society Philly Cheesesteak

This one is the newest item added to my list. My roommate actually told me about Vice’s Philly cheesesteaks and how they are known for them. This is slightly embarrassing to admit, but I have never actually been to Vice, and I do want to try it. I’ve personally tried a Philly cheesesteak from Philly itself, so this is going to be an interesting experience.
I’ll have to see if it’s truly as good as people hype it up to be. On that note, I want to try more spots in CollegeTown as well. I recently tried BLND, and I absolutely loved it. CollegeTown is also so convenient and has everything a college student could hope for.
- Attend Food Truck Fridays

The FSU Lakefront Park has Food Truck Fridays, where different food trucks come out and give students the chance to grab some free food. The current fall schedule has the final Food Truck Friday on Sept. 25 from 12-4 p.m. The food is free while supplies last. I love being outdoors, and free food is always a plus, so this sounds like a perfect way to spend a Friday afternoon with some friends.
- Go to the FSU Farmers Markets

I’d never heard of the FSU Farmers Market until recently. Apparently, FSU holds a Farmers Market on Legacy Walk from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on select dates. The next one is set for Sept. 24. I already put it on my calendar, and I plan to go.
I absolutely loved attending farmers’ markets back home in Tampa. St. Pete especially had some amazing ones, and I think they’re some of the best weekend activities. I’m excited to see what the FSU Farmers Market has to offer and hopefully find some new vendors to love. I love the chance to try local businesses and homemade goods.
At the end of the day, I know I probably won’t get to everything on this list, between work and school, but that’s not the point. I want to make the most of my time at FSU while it lasts. There are so many ways to stay involved, and I don’t want to look back and wish I had done more. This semester is already flying by, so I’m ready to get out there and have some fun!
