Every fall semester, everyone seems to scramble to find the right clubs, activities, and events on campus. So, here’s your unofficial guide to what you can get involved with on campus this semester.
- . THE ASLC AND FILM CLUB

For any movie buffs out there, the Film Club and the Askew Student Life Center (ASLC) are great opportunities to get more involved. The ASLC screens movies regularly, and its programming is decided by students in the Film Committee, which meets every Monday and Friday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. FSU also has its own Film Club. From movie screenings to film awards, the ASLC and Film Club are two amazing ways to get involved and meet other movie buffs like you!

Club Downunder is perfect for those who are more outgoing. They host events like Karaoke Night, PowerPoint Night, trivia, and concerts, and are entirely programmed by students, for students. Whether you’re looking for internships in production or programming, or just looking to meet some new people, Club Downunder is an amazing opportunity to get involved and meet students like yourself!
- . WHITE MOUSE PRODUCTIONS

Anyone interested in theatre should know about White Mouse Productions. While not technically school-affiliated, White Mouse produces several theatrical shows throughout the year and holds other events like script readings, writing nights, and even 24-hour productions! White Mouse is an entirely student-run organization, with opportunities for actors and writers running year-round.

For those with their nose stuck in a book, FSU has plenty of book clubs for you to choose from: the famous Page Turners, to the women-only Overbooked, and even the Fiction and Film Book Club, FSU has plenty of book clubs for you to choose from! Whatever your inclination, you’re sure to find some good friends, some good books, and some great times with these book clubs.

If you’re more sporty, you might find interest in FSU’s many recreational sports organizations. From Badminton to Jiu-Jitsu to Waterboarding, everyone is sure to find something that calls to them. The best thing? These are all recreational sports activities, meaning competitions are entirely optional. So, whether you’re a casual fan or a competitive pro, the world is your oyster (at least when it comes to sports)!

FSU’s Best Buddies chapter is an incredible way to get involved on campus and make some new friends while doing it. Best Buddies is a global volunteer network with opportunities for personal and professional development and provides a support network for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Budding fashion designers may want to look into Diverse World Fashion (DWF) Magazine, a student-led fashion magazine here in Tallahassee. DWF hosts designer applications and model casting calls periodically throughout the year and publishes two editions a year. You can also write for the magazine. They also host fun runway events throughout the year. If you’re interested in fashion and want to meet others who are too, DWF may be the place for you.

For those looking for a riotously fun time, FSU’s Humans vs. Zombies club has events every Tuesday at Landis Green. Yes, this is exactly what it sounds like: the events are a campus-wide game of tag under the guise of a zombie outbreak. The club also hosts specialized events throughout the semester. Event sign-ups and rules can be found on their Instagram page.

The Women’s Student Union (WSU) at FSU offers a community for college-age women and opportunities to get involved, including volunteering and employment opportunities. From bracelet making to book talks, WSU has something for everyone. It’s a great way to get more involved and make some friends!

FSU’s Student Government Association (SGA) is an amazing option for those interested in helping to host events for students across campus. With opportunities for professional development (including research opportunities), SGA can be a great way to further your college career while also serving your fellow Noles!
