Caitlin Gregory: Army Boss

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

Name: Caitlin Gregory

Age: 19

Year: Freshman

Major: Psychology, Criminology

Hometown: North Port, Florida

Relationship Status: Taken

Her Campus (HC): What made you decide to come to Florida State?

Caitlin Gregory (CG): Initially, I was set on becoming a doctor and I knew FSU had a reputable biology program. However, that plan eventually changed! I also absolutely loved the campus; it was so beautiful when I first saw it. My dad is a huge Florida State fan too, so he gave me some really good reasons why I should attend FSU.

HC: What do you like to do in your free time?

CG: I work at Ruby Tuesday’s part-time and I hang out with my boyfriend, Zak, most of the time.  I’m also a huge Netflix binger — I can’t live without it! I actually just finished the Gossip Girl series!

HC: Give us a little insight on what you like about your job.

CG: I love when I make a lot of money! Every time I work, I usually make a lot in tips. I actually think having a serving job in college makes you more personable, because you’re constantly interacting with people, too. So, yeah, in a way the money is a good part, but I think the skills you come out with are what’s going to help in the long run. If you don’t learn how to interact and be sociable with people, it doesn’t matter what kind of job you have, because chances are, you’re going to struggle if you don’t pick up the basic skills.

HC: Do you have any plans for after you graduate?

CG: I want to go [into] the military when I graduate and that will hopefully give me an advantage [in] getting into the CIA, which is my main goal right now.

HC: So as of right now, no plans for graduate school?

CG: Well, after I am done with the military, I plan on getting my masters in criminology, since they will pay for it. Right now I am not sure where I’m going [for] graduate school, but I would like to come back to Florida State, since they offer a program in criminology.

HC: That sounds like a well thought-out plan! So, Spring Break was around a week ago. How did you spend it?

CG: It was actually the best I’ve had so far! I spent half of it at home with my family, and then the other half at a beach condo in New Smyrna Beach with my boyfriend and friends. I actually got to read the article Her Campus published about the Spring Break Survival Kit essentials!

HC: That’s awesome! What was your favorite part of the article?

CG: Believe it or not, I eat Luna Bars all the time! That had to be my favorite part and it gave me new flavors I haven’t heard of! I’ve been dying to try the chocolate coconut one!
