Being away at college can create unhealthy eating habits. This could partially be because you have no one monitoring what you eat, or you just don’t have the ability to have a lot of healthy food at your hands. Here are 5 dorm room snacks to make when you’re hungry and want something healthy.

  1. Yogurt and Granola – Yogurt comes in many different flavors and tastes great with granola. You could even add some fruit to get more flavor.

  2. Veggies and Hummus – This is a snack that can vary from time to time. There are many different kinds of veggies to eat with hummus and a lot of different flavors of hummus to go with those veggies.

  3. Trail Mix – As long as you limit the amount of chocolate and goodies in your trail mix, this is a super healthy snack that will fill you up and keep your tummy happy!

  4. Fruit – Even if you don’t have a fridge to keep perishable fruit in, fruits like bananas, oranges, and even grapes don’t need to be refrigerated, so don’t use that as an excuse to not buy fruit!

  5. Cheese and crackers – This is a simple and easy snack to make. It also tastes really good!

Even if you don’t have a refrigerator in your room, there are still options for healthy snacking. Trail mix does not require refrigeration and you can even have just nuts as a snack. You can also eat granola on it’s own. Don’t be limited because you don’t have a refrigerator. There are still options for you!
