Halloween is right around the corner and one of the best parts is definitely the candy. Even though candy is delicious, here are some healthy alternatives for you to choose from if you want to take a break from your traditional favorite treats:

   1. Dark chocolate

Who says that chocolate can’t be healthy? Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants and packed with nutrients, which makes this the perfect snack for those needing something sweet.

   2. Popcorn

Popcorn is full of whole grains in addition to having fiber, vitamins, and healthy fats. One of my favorite popcorn brands is Skinny Pop!

  3. Crackers

Crackers are another great healthy whole grain snack. One of my favorites are Honey Maid Graham Crackers

  4. Granola bars

There are numerous yummy whole grain granola bars that you can choose from that are low in sugar and high in fiber.

  5. Fruit cups

This snack is great for people like me who have a sweet tooth. Try to avoid ones with added sugar.

  6. Pumpkin seeds

Pumpkin seeds contain a variety of nutrients like zinc, iron, and magnesium. They’re also a great festive snack for the Halloween season.

 7. Trail mix

You can get packets of trail mix that have nuts, chocolate chips, and dried fruit. Nuts are a great source of both protein and healthy fats. The dried fruit and chocolate chips also a bit of sweetness to this nutritious snack. You can read the ingredients to make sure the trail mix isn’t filled with sugar. There are so many trail mix varieties available that you can definitely find one that you love.
