“A person is a person no matter how small.” After much anticipation, the FIU Roarthon revealed the theme for this year’s Dance Marathon would be Dr. Suess, in a very FIU Roarthon style. Between the rush of over 60 people signing up to participate in the dance marathon, morale captains showing the FIU community their line dance and the big announcements being made, theme reveal was an event that was sure to attract attention. The Roarthon committee used this event to push the amount of dancers they have signing up to be involved in DM. With an aim to raise $117,000, The Roarthon committee is working tirelessly to reach their goal of dancers and money to be able to give back to the kids of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

A new campaign called “Find Your Why” was also released in order to bring full awareness as to why it is that we participate in Roarthon. Students participating in the marathon were encouraged to write what made them do it, and reasons like “more birthdays” and “fighting chances” covered the board. It is never too late to sign up and make a difference.
