7 Podcasts Every #Girlboss Should Listen To

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.

College is all about finding yourself and becoming a better and more educated version of yourself. Nowadays, more and more females are becoming empowered and inspired to be their own bosses, and the bosses of others too. This list is for all of my Girlbosses – and inspiring Girlbosses too!

  • Women, Work and Worth – This podcast, which is maybe my favorite of the list, is all about intentional living. It is directed toward the women who are looking to lead a meaningful life filled with purpose, and without reservations.
  • Directionally Challenged – If you were as crazy about Vampire Diaries as most girls going through college atm were, then you will be well acquainted with the hosts of this podcast! Directionally Challenged, hosted by Candice King and Kayla Ewell, is all about asking questions about everyday life that we all should have figured out by now, and getting the answers from their interviewees.
  • Being Boss – Hosted by Kathleen Shannon and Emily Thompson, Being Boss is the perfect podcast if you need to kick yourself into gear. They talk all about side-hustles, entrepreneurship, and being in control of yourself and your life; basically, they teach you how to be boss. Their energy and flow together as business besties will not only make you want to stick around, but have you wanting to have a business bestie of your own.
  • Beyond the To-Do List – Sometimes, when trying to be a girl boss, you find yourself filling you life with endless to-do lists, and filling your day up with too many tasks, this can lead to the feeling of overwhelm, as well as a complete burnout. This podcast makes you look past that stage, and helps you choose the important tasks for you and your progress, it goes beyond the to-dos and onto the real goals.
  • #Girlboss (Made Easy) – Katie Lieder’s podcasts is perfect for the aspiring #Girlbosses reading this article. We all have to start somewhere, but it can be overwhelming and confusing at first. This is where a super honest and relatable Katie comes in. She keeps it real about her life’s experiences, and how she has taken the reins in her life in order to be an unapologetically millennial woman (and how yo van be one too!)
  • Call Your Girlfriend – Okay this one is not as work-focused as the rest, which can be refreshing and much needed in the world of podcasts. Call Your Girlfriend is all about friendships and girl power. Aminatou Sow and Ann Friedman call each other to revel in their long distance friendship and talk about anything and everything from periods to politics, and everything in between.
  • She Did It Her Way – Host Amanda Boylen answers the important questions behind a successful business. She gives her own important tips and well as interviewing other girl bosses, and together they provide the best inputs on how to stay at your most productive, how to begin you own business and how to transition from a boring 9-5 and onto your own schedule!
Honorable Mentions:

These are not podcasts, but rather YouTube channels. However, I find that I couldn’t write this article without including these self-improvement Girlbosses. I listen to their videos as podcasts while I shower, cook, clean, and everything in between.

  • Muchelleb on Youtube – Oh my God Muchelleb! Literally the reason why this has been my most productive year yet. This Australian babe is all about self-improvement, productivity, and how to be a better you. If this is something that you find yourself even remotely interested in, I definitely suggest you go check her out! She is my inspiration to be the best me that I can be.
  • Amy Landino on Youtube – If you have a dream life, this girl can help you get there. Landino’s YouTube channel is paradise for those who are looking to optimize their time, achieve goals, and be achieving your goals and dreams.
  • KOZE on YouTube – KOZE, by Kalyn Nicholson, is all about redefining you and your environment. Like Muchelleb and Amy Landino, she gives tips and personal experiences on topics such as breakups, life’s obstacles, and has the best GYSTing (Getting Your S*** Together) videos on the platform, in my humble opinion.
Currently a Senior at Florida International University studying English and Sociology.
