6 Friend Dates That Won’t Break The Bank

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.

The weekend is finally coming back and your hectic week is coming to an end. Hanging out with your girls is on your weekend agenda, of course, but sometimes you don’t want to spend all your money on drinks or $20 French toast at brunch. Just because your wallet won’t let you go out every weekend, doesn’t mean your social life has to suffer.

1. Wine night. Sometimes you need to unwind after a crazy weekend and spend hours drinking bottles of cheap wine and talking about the latest gossip. You could even have everyone bring a dessert of their choice and watch your favorite chick flick together.

2. Photo shoot. Beat your face, put on your cutest outfit and head to an aesthetic place with great lighting. It might feel a little silly at first, but it will be less awkward with all of your friends around to make you laugh. Be sure to post the photos on IG later!

3. Workout class. The gym at FIU offers a variety of free workout classes to students. Whether you want to take a simple yoga class or try spin, there is something for everyone.

4. DIY session. Search Pinterest for cute ideas and get crafty. Grab your hot glue gun and meet up with your friends to create that DIY room décor piece you’ve been dying to try.

5. Museum or park. While some museums have an entrance fee, you can usually find deals on their websites or go to a free museum, like the Frost Museum at FIU. Parks can also be a great, cheap option if you want to take pictures or have a picnic and just chill.

6. Drive. Who doesn’t love riding in the car singing along to the radio with their best friends? Try going for a drive some place new and maybe make a few stops along the way.
