Graduation is slowly approaching! Which means that many anxious seniors will begin working this coming summer. Coming right out of college, it can be intimidating to join the corporate world and adjust to the wardrobe of your new colleagues, especially as many of us have spent our college years living in sweatpants. Yet, it is definitely possible to make what you wear in the workplace fashionable while sticking to the dress code! Here are a few items that will help you begin your capsule wardrobe:

A Basic Shoe

Coming across one or two shoes that you can mix and match with any of your everyday outfits will be a great help when running out the door every morning. A simple yet classic pair of boots, loafers, and sneakers will be your best friend. While dress codes may vary depending on where you work, the Veja Esplar Low Leather Sneakers are a clean pair of sneakers that can easily go with any outfit. If you’re looking for a dressier and more sophisticated look, the Sam Edelman Loraine Loafers give a clean and versatile look. A simple and sleek black heel like Nordstrom’s Anna Pointed Toe Pump is also a must.

Bodysuits

Bodysuits are such an easy way to put together a simple work outfit. They can be easily paired with any pants, making them a definite staple for anyone’s capsule wardrobe. Some of my favorite bodysuits are from Aritzia’s Babaton collection, one being the Contour Square Neck Long Sleeve Bodysuit. For their price, the quality of these bodysuits will definitely last you years into your corporate career! If you are looking to spend a little less money, Lulu’s Bold Basic Black Long Sleeve Cutout Bodysuit is almost identical and half the price.

A Staple Blazer

Last but not least, it’s definitely important to find at least one statement blazer that can be worn on top of any of your work outfits. Staple blazers can put your outfit together, and are easy to throw on any morning before heading to work. Lulu’s again has a great selection of blazers that won’t break your wallet, one being their Miss Punctuality Black Lightweight Blazer. If you’re looking to step up and find a higher quality and durable piece that will last you a lifetime, Abercrombie’s Classic Suited Blazer would be the perfect option.

We hope Her Campus has helped you get started on building the capsule wardrobe for your corporate career!
