Is TikTok the new networking site for Gen Z?  If you’re on “Career TikTok” it might just be.  While we love spending time perfecting our TikTok dances in an attempt to get viral, TikTok is also a place where you can spend time learning new skills for a future career, learn how to network or perfect your resume, and even obtain internships!

Being able to get a hold of this great career advice comes with finding your niche on TikTok.  Do you want to learn more about social media marketing and how to build a brand or would you rather learn about how to prepare for med school and the nursing field? Luckily, TikTok has people willing to help from all areas. Once you find these people with a simple search, make sure you follow them to keep the learning going!

Here are some of our favorite accounts & creators to get you started.

Interview prep, resumes, networking: @chrristen, @careerbabe, @selfmademillennial

Social media, marketing, branding: @followmario, @laurgetssocial, @socialjazz

Medical school, nursing, pre-PA: @txshay, @aspensanatomy, @nurseinthemakingkristine

Finance, investing, accounting: @pricelesstay, @enspyreinvesting, @austinhankwitz

Once you find your niche on TikTok, make sure you look out for opportunities outside of the app that will allow you to advance your career. A lot of TikTokers will offer to connect with their users on LinkedIn, provide mentorship, offer private calls, or post internships listings! Don’t be afraid to hop onto these opportunities – all because they are from TikTok does not mean they’re less worthy of value!

Best of luck ladies! HCXO
