18 90’s Songs That We’ll Never Get Tired Of

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

The 90s are near and dear to us millennials. Not just because most of us were born in this decade, but the 90s were also the birth of Pop Princesses, Boy Bands, Girl Groups, and iconic rappers. We can never get tired of music from the 90s because it’s timeless. There was no auto-tune or vulgar lyrics. Even today, these long-lived songs are still perfect to listen to for heartbreak, partying, exercising, driving or just jamming out. Here are just a handful of some oldies but goodies.

1.     Len- “Steal My Sunshine” (1999)

This jam is perfect for cruising in the car, windows down on a cool summer day.

2.     Cher- “Believe” (1998)

“Do you believeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee??” You can’t not belt this song.

3.     Sugar Ray-“Fly” (1997)

This is the perfect road trip song.

4.     Smash Mouth- “All Star” (1999)

I will forever think of Shrek when I hear this song.

5.     Blink 182- “All the Small Things” (1999)

Pretty much any Blink-182 song…Travis Barker marry me?

6.     DMX- “Party Up in Here” (1999)

Still a go to party jam.

7.     LFO- “Summer Girls” (1999)

Great song, but a cheesy AF music vid.

8.     Aqua- “Barbie Girl” (1997)

We all sang this one in front of the mirror with our hairbrushes as our microphones.

9.     Third Eye Blind- “Jumper” (1997)

Who doesn’t love this song?

10. Semi-Sonic- “Closing Time” (1998)

Starting to hate this one only because it means GTFO if you’re at The Grape…

11. Lou Bega- “Mambo No. 5” (1999)

If your name is Monica, Erica, Rita, Tina, Sandra, Mary or Jessica, we were all very jealous of you.

12. Britney Spears- “Hit Me Baby One More Time”  (1999)

Nearly 20 years later and Brit is still a queen.

13. Backstreet Boys- “I Want It That Way” (1999)

It was hard to decide which boy-band we loved more…Backstreet Boys or ‘N Sync.

14. Biggie Smalls- “Hypnotize” (1997)

Still to this day, this hit is a popular radio song.

15. S Club 7- “Bring it All Back” (1999)

UGH best show ever.

16. Spice Girls- “Wannabe” (1996)

I just wanna have a slumber party with my girls, dress up, and blast this song jumping around the room.

17. Sir Mix A Lot- Baby Got Back (1992)

We almost forgot how obsessed we are with this song until Nicki Minaj sampled it in Anaconda back in 2014.

18. Hanson- “MMMBop” (1997)

In 1997, we fell in love with The Hanson Brothers. Their one hit wonder will never be forgotten.
