Self-development books help us in becoming the best versions of ourselves, calling us out on our behaviour and ways to improve. These can range from our mindset, beliefs, relationships to finances and wellbeing. Today, I will be focusing on mindset-based books and how they can help you achieve personal growth.

The mountain is you – Brainna Wiest

Brianna Wiest is an incredibly successful author in the self-development space, selling millions of copies worldwide.I highly recommend reading all her works, she has the right book for each season of your life.

The Mountain Is You discusses how your self-sabotaging behaviour is stopping you from reaching your goals. Have you ever heard of the phrase “the biggest obstacle standing in your way is you”? This book explains this beautifully. Your limiting beliefs and subconscious behaviours often hold you back. We can be quick to blame external circumstances, but it takes a strong person to look in the mirror and realise they could be the problem.

Brianna explores why we self sabotage and provides various techniques you can implement to break this pattern and live out the life you truly deserve.

The power of your subconscious mind – Joseph Murphy

This classic book delves deep into the inner workings of the subconscious, using real-life examples to demonstrate how your subconscious mind can affect your behaviour. 95% of our behaviour is governed by our subconscious mind, meaning that many of our thoughts are creating repeated patterns of behaviour that we didn’t even realise we had.

Murphy explains how the subconscious cannot distinguish between what is real and imagined, which is why the way we speak to ourselves even in a ‘joke’ manner can negatively affect our thoughts.

Though some of the book does feel repetitive, especially after the half way mark, it is an insightful guide to understanding the mechanism of the subconscious.

A gentle reminder -Bianca Sparacino

A gentle reminder is true to its titl e- a book that feels like a warm hug. Sometime, we just need to be remind in a soft voice and Brianna does exactly that. For those days when you need that extra comfort or when your heart feels heavy, this book is perfect. It centres around self love,self-worth and healing, supporting you in navigating your life.

The world of self-development books is endless, but these are just a few to get you started. I hope you enjoy the journey of growth and everything you learn in between.

XOXO, Idman
