The Easter holidays are nearly upon us. With most students currently living in the library, keeping up your beauty and regime is pretty much the last thing on everyone’s mind. To help with the boredome of deadlines and revision, here’s some of our favourite beauty picks of the week to help you through another day of Library Soc.

Illamasqua Speckle Nail Varnish £14.50

If you want to jazz up your nails without having to go to the beauticians, and have a cheeky break from revision at the same time, this limited edition nail varnish from Illamasqua is the perfect product. Their new speckled collection, inspired by the speckled effect on eggs, fits in perfectly with Easter and its quirky pattern will definitely brighten up your nails. It comes in a range of pastel colours, from dreamy baby blue to mint green, and is a great spring accessory. Buy it in time for Easter for £14.50.

Caudalíe Eau de Beauté Beauty Elixir £28

When a product is inspired by the elixir of youth used by Queen Isabelle of Hungary, it’s going to grab our attention. We’re all feeling the pressure with exams and deadlines, so freshen up your tired skin with this beauty serum from French beauty brand Caudalíe.  It smells heavenly, feels incredible on your skin and is extremely versatile. Containing natural ingredients such as rose extract, lemon balm, rosemary, and orange blossom, it will give you back your healthy glow without clogging your pores. You can put it on before your moisturiser or at any point during the day, even between foundation and powder to set your make-up. At £28, it is a worthwhile investment, and lasts a long time.

Marc Jacobs Oh Lola! Sunshine Edition £47.00

Just in time for spring, Marc Jacobs has released limited edition versions of his popular fragrances, and our favourite is the ‘Sunshine Edition’ of Oh Lola! Even if it’s raining outside, this delectable perfume will brighten your day and is a lighter take on the original Oh Lola! It’s floral without being overpowering, and the hints of raspberry and vanilla make it a lovely sheer scent that’s perfect for the summer. Buy it while it’s in stock (or even better, ask your mum to treat you to it) for £47. It’s a very flirty, youthful fragrance, and will look so pretty in your room.

L’Oréal Paris Glam Bronze, Duo Bronzing Powder for Blondes £10.20

With summer on its way (well, spring) we are very excited at the prospect of putting away our blusher, and buying a new bronzer. If you’re new to bronzer, it’s a great alternative to pink blushers, and perfect for enhancing your summer skin tone. This product from L’Oréal includes a brush and is toned to blend in with fair skin and blonde hair (don’t worry brunette ladies, there’s one for you too). You can use the two halves separately or together, to mix things up. Either way, you get a natural looking, healthy glow and a bit of sparkle.  It’s definitely worth £10.20, and can even be used on your décolletage (neck and chest).

Lily Houghton is in her final year at Exeter studying English. With an unhealthy addiction to shopping, and unparalled knowledge of Exeter's retail sector, the role of Fashion and Beauty Editor seemed to be made for Lily, and her parents were thrilled she channelled her energy towards something that didn't involve spending money. Whilst her goal of bringing the catwalks of Milan and Paris to the sunny south of England may be slighty ambitious, she also hopes to banish the jeans/flip-flop trend from campus once and for all, and impose an immediate expulsion rule on anyone seen in daylight in a onesie. Contradictory to many women interested in fashion, she loves cake, her Ugg boots, and spending an afternoon immersed in an Emily Dickinson anthology. She hopes to travel America before going into the fashion industry, although she still hasn't come to terms with just how soon she will be graduating.
