What I Like to do on a Rainy Day to Lift my Spirits

Living in Massachusetts means that the weather is never the same, let alone the way that you want it to be. When I woke up Monday morning and looked at the weather on my phone, I saw only rain. To some people this might be the end of the world, but as I got dressed and prepared myself for the week ahead, I tried to look at some of the positives.

Here is a list of my favorite things to do when it is raining outside:

  1. Cuddle up under a nice warm blanket and listen to the rain hit the windows
  2. Bake some desserts or cook a fun meal
  3. Watch one of my favorite movies (this always boosts my mood tbh)
  4. Take a hot shower and put on cozy clothes afterwards
  5. Make hot chocolate or tea and listen to relaxing music
  6. Go for a walk in the rain (only if it’s in the summer and it’s a warm rain — not when its cold because I don’t really enjoy cold rain)
  7. Take a nap (this is such a vibe in my opinion)
  8. Be really productive (this is one of my favorite ones because I feel that since I can’t do much outside, I might as well get homework or housework done inside)
  9. Do my self-care routine
  10. Do a small workout to get me moving since I don’t want to go outside lol

Next time you see rain on the weather forecast, try and look at it with optimism as there are so many ways you can take a rainy day and make it so much better :)
