Tameka: What are three words that people would use to describe you?

Nicole: Squash, squats, and sophisticated.

T: Who is your biggest role model?

N: It’s a gridlock tie between my mom and Guy Fieri. My mom because she’s awesome and also the fact that if she read this and I didn’t put her there is a slim possibility she wouldn’t pay for my flight home. Guy Fieri because he has like 6 restaurants, has 2 TV shows, makes a living traveling and eating, rocks a Hawaiian shirt, and has a great catchphrase. You can’t lose with these two.

T: What is SPC and why did you join it?

N: Someone was handing out free King of Pops at the activity fair and agreed to give me one if I put down my email. A few days later I got an email about SPC and thought being about to put on concerts for the student body would be so much fun. The further I got into interviews, the more I found out about what the organization does and fell in love with it.

T: What has been your favorite part of being on SPC? What has been your favorite event?

N: Hands down the best thing about SPC is the bonds with other members. I love and respect all the people on that organization and would (possibly) share my Falafel King with them. By far my favorite event was this year’s Homecoming because I was one of the co-chairs. Spending six months planning this week long event with my committee scattered around the world was definitely a challenge, but being able to see our idea become a reality was priceless.

T: What is your goal for SPC?

N: Higher attendance at smaller events and even the bigger weeks too. Emory isn’t the most spirited school but I’m hoping that having more events put on by SPC can change that.

T: How can students get involved in SPC?

N: Take King of Pops from strangers in exchange for your Emory email, solid strategy I promise.
