As spring slowly sets in (and like super slowly…what’s with these random cold, rainy days?? We all want to wear shorts already!), we start to notice all the pretty flowers and realize: OMG, it’s April, Earth Month! April 22nd is Earth Day, but the entire month of April is a celebration of our dearest mother Earth. It’s a month to really try to recycle, use less water, and transition into using organic beauty products! Many of us now only eat organic food, but why not also make a complete lifestyle change and include organic products in our beauty regime too? Just as non-organic food is harmful to your body, non-organic beauty products are just the same. They contain parabens, synthetic dyes, and petrochemicals, just to name a few of the harmful ingredients that can cause cancer and detrimental harm to your body.  Why would you want to put these damaging chemicals onto your skin so that your body can absorb them? But don’t worry- you don’t have to. Instead, you should try out these organic beauty brands:

1. RMS Beauty. RMS has recently become super popular now that J.Crew stocks some of the staple products at their stores. They have a wide range of makeup products from RMS’ living luminizer to their “un” cover-up, and they even have their own mascara. I’m a big fan of their lip2cheek, which is great for a tinted lip balm or a blush. Their products are also really cute in simple, pretty white containers. Who doesn’t love beautifully packaged cosmetics?

2. Tata Harper. Tata’s organic skincare products are one of the most popular luxury lines of organic cosmetics, and that’s because they are amazing! I recently purchased one of their lip treatments at J.Crew (J.Crew is really embracing the organic skincare craze – yay!) and I am in love with it. It’s a must have. Also their Resurfacing Mask is amaze for minimizing pores, reducing redness, and exfoliating. The Hydrating Floral Essence is also great for lightweight moisturizing.

3. Ilia. Ilia is my fave for lipsticks – they literally have every color imaginable, and they don’t fade or wear off quickly. Their multi-use Illuminators are also really great for contouring and highlighting.

4. S.W. Basics. At S.W. Basics they not only have organic skin care products, but also vegan ones! I’m a big fan of their flavored lip balms – the Cocoa is the best! They also sell all of their products in mini sizes, which is perfect for traveling.

5. Pai. Pai Skincare is perfect for sensitive skin—they have products for every skin type. Their Chamomile and Rosehip Calming Day Cream and the Camelia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser work wonders! All their products also come in white containers – clean, simple, pretty packaging.
