It seems like everyone on campus is recovering from, catching, or suffering from the flu. If you’re cooped up in your room and searching for something to keep you occupied during this flu season, here is a list of 10 movies that everyone should see at least once.
1. 10 Things I Hate About You
10 Things I Hate About You is based on Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew (so some may say it’s basically educational) and will fill you with 90s nostalgia.
2. Best In Show
This movie is ridiculously funny (not to mention it stars super cute dogs).
3. The Shining
Based on the book by Stephen King, The Shining is a classic if you’re into horror. Bonus: King is basically a genius, and you can waste extra hours after the movie is finished researching everything you may have missed.
4. Back to the Future
My personal favorite movie of all time, this feel good 80s classic is about time travel and stars Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd.
5. Dead Poets Society
Robin Williams teaches poetry to a group of overworked and play-by-the-rules boys at a prestigious boarding school in New England. It’s an amazing (and super quotable) movie that even won an Oscar for best screenplay.
6. Crazy, Stupid, Love
If none of the previous movies seemed interesting, you can’t go wrong with a good Rom-Com when you’re sick. And honestly, what’s better than Emma Stone, Steve Carell, and Ryan Gosling in the same movie?
