5 Ways to Accessorize with Bracelets

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emory chapter.

Jewelry is often subtle—even though it’s not the first thing you notice, it can really help pull your outfit together. It can also be an awesome way to express who you are! Since the most recent trend placed a large emphasis on rings, bracelets have gone a little underappreciated. For inspiration, here are some of my favorite bracelets and wristwear that suit many different occasions.

1. Bangles

Thicker bangles are my default accessory for nights out. I love to push them up and wear them around the middle of my forearm. They can add a bohemian vibe to any outfit and are often more unique than your standard jewelry piece! You an check out Forever 21 and ASOS to get this look.

2. Skinny Watches

Though they aren’t bracelets, the perfect skinny watch can be a nice touch to your outfit. I wear one that my mom used to wear in the early 90s (thrifting from your parents is a thing!) and I love adding it to outfits that I want to make more casual.

3. Pandora Charm Bracelet

I have been collecting charms on my Pandora bracelet for 5 years now—it’s one of my favorite things that I own. Classy and sentimental bracelets are always nice for dressier events because they look nice and they can even be comforting if you are going to an interview or presenting in class!

4. Friendship Bracelets

There are tons of “friendship bracelets” all over stores now…which is good for people like me, because I could never finish a whole bracelet. They’re fun to combine and layer, and they’re a great way to add some color to your style!

5. Lokai Bracelet

Of all the jewelry I wear, my Lokai bracelet is my absolute favorite. It has an amazing message and reminds the wearer “to stay humble at the top, and to stay hopeful at the bottom.” With mud from the Dead Sea in the black bead and snow (which would really be water) from Mount Everest in the white beads, this is an awesome bracelet that can make you feel closer to nature. Bonus: 10% of every purchase goes to support a charity. I definitely recommend it! For more information, check out their website here.
