More than Just a Panini Wizard: An Interview with “Sleepy” (Muddy River Staff Member)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emmanuel chapter.

You may recognize Sleepy as the Panini Wizard in the Muddy, but this week she is our Campus Celebrity! Sleepy is an extremely funny, kind, and caring faculty member here at EC. She even remembers the regular lunch orders for most of us frequent Muddy eaters! I had the pleasure of learning more about Sleepy through our interview. Check out her responses below!

HCE: How long have you worked at Emmanuel?

Sleepy: I’ve worked for Emmanuel going on two years.

HCE: Do you have a favorite memory or story from your time here at EC?

Sleepy: Yes, just recently. One day when I walked out to open for lunch, this day, like many days, students were patiently waiting for me to open. But once they saw me they clapped and cheered and gave me the warmest greetings ever. It made me feel so appreciated.

HCE: What is your favorite Bon Appetit food?

Sleepy: My favorite Bon Appetite food is chowder on Fridays.

HCE: What are some of your hobbies?

Sleepy: My hobbies are cooking, making lollipops, and shopping.

HCE: If you could have any super power, what would it be?

Sleepy: I wish I had super powers of speed, because I feel there are never enough hours in a day.

HCE: Who would play you in the movie version of your life?

Sleepy: In a movie about my life, I would want my daughter to portray me. She’s the only person who I feel can mimic me the best!

HCE: That’s so great. And finally, the question we’ve all been waiting for, how did you get the nickname “Sleepy”?

Sleepy: My nickname comes from my mom. Sleepy was one of her many nicknames for me, but the name Sleepy is because I have what’s called lazy eyes so it may appear that I’m Sleepy [laughs].

Sleepy, we think you are the best! Thank you for your commitment to Emmanuel and the students. Your hard work and positive vibes never go unrecognized!
