There is nothing I love more than capitalizing on a great deal. I was in luck when I found out that Studs, the ear piercing service chain, was running what I would consider to be the best Halloween promotion. The deal? Shake a magic 8-ball and try to get a $13 piercing.
Here’s how it worked. I went into my nearest Studs location around mid-afternoon to see if there were any walk-in spots available. To my surprise, there were, but I was informed the wait could be anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half. I agreed to stay in line and wait, but not long after my arrival they had to stop talking walk-ins.
After waiting to be checked in, it was time to shake the 8-ball. I was instructed that I got two tries, but once I shook the ball a second time, my first shake would be void. The options you could get after shaking were: “Not Today”, “Buy 1 Get 1 Jewelry”, “Free Insertion Tool”, “Spooky Stacked Lobe”, “Haunted Helix”, “Creepy Conch”, “Freaky Flat”, and “Trick or Tragus”. Each piercing came with an already designated piece of Halloween jewelry. If you were lucky enough to land on one of the piercings, the total price would be a flat rate of $13 for the piercing and the jewelry together.Â
I would have been content with any of the piercing options. I shook the ball and on my first try I got the “Spooky Stacked Lobe”. I was ecstatic that I got a piercing and not the “Not Today” message. The friend I was with shook the ball after me and landed on “Creepy Conch”. We happily accepted our fate and sat to wait our turn.
It took almost 2 hours after we had shook the magic 8-ball to get our piercings done. However, It was definitely worth the wait. We had a wonderful piercer who chatted with us the whole time we were getting our ears done. It’s been a few years since my last piercing, even longer since my last lobe piercing, but I barely felt a thing! The jewelry designed for the “Spooky Stacked Lobe”, which is a green and gold stud, now sits above my first lobe piercing on my left ear.
After completing the piercing itself, we walked to the counter to pay our $13 total. After I checked the receipt, I found that the total cost of the piercing and jewelry was $108 originally. I walked away with a $95 discount; I told you I love a good deal.
I would definitely do this again if given the opportunity. This was the best way to kick off Halloweekend, and to save some money while doing so!
