6 Ways to De-Stress this Thanksgiving Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emmanuel chapter.

This time of the semester is always the busiest. I feel like I’m drowning in papers, rehearsals, and social commitments. So I devised a list of ways to help de-stress during this holiday weekend!

1. Take a bubble bath. I don’t know why, but taking a bubble bath is the first thing I do whenever I come home from college. The hot water and bubbles help me forget about the millions of papers I have due soon. It also gives me some much-needed “me time” after a stressful commute back home.

2. Download a new game. After many years, I redownloaded Sims onto my computer. Though it cost me about $10, it’s really fun and nostalgic to build fancy homes and create perfect lives for my Sims. But it doesn’t have to be Sims! Download a new game you’ve haven’t played since you were a kid or try a new one!

3. Go Black Friday shopping with friends! Every Black Friday, my friend and I go to our local mall and find some great holiday deals! It’s also really funny to watch everyone lose their minds over a discount on a new television.

4. Get some work done! If you’re like me, nothing feels better than checking some things off of your to-do list! Stop by your local library and do some homework for a few hours in a low-stress environment. You’ll be glad you did.

5. Catch up with some friends from home! College friends are great, but nothing beats reminiscing with some old friends!

6. Spend some time with your parents! Yeah, they can get on our nerves sometimes, but they only ever want the best for us. Go get a nice meal with them, you’ll be glad you did, even if they try to embarrass you.

We know that this time of the semester can feel really stressful, but be sure to take some time to yourself this holiday weekend.
