Fall Recipes You Can Make in Your Dorm

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emerson chapter.

Who doesn’t love fall? The weather is cooler, the clothes are cuter, and the food and drinks are delicious (and I’m not just talking Pumpkin Spice Lattes). So kick back with some hot apple cider and try one of these simple fall recipes!

Caramel Apples

Probably one of the easiest snacks to make (and one of the yummiest) is the caramel apple. You can go crazy and make your own caramel (a recipe for that here), or you can just melt down a bunch of caramels and get to dipping. Some tips if you want to wing it: use slightly cool caramel as opposed to piping hot, and wash your apple in warm water thoroughly before dipping. Otherwise, the surface of the apple will be waxy and the caramel will just slide off. For more tips and tricks on making the perfect caramel apple, check out this blog entry from blogger Homebased Mom!

Pumpkin Pie Croissants

Check out this recipe for mini pumpkin pie croissants from blogger Shaken Together. I’ve realized that cresent rolls have so many delicious uses, and stuffing them with simple pumpkin pie filling is one of them! If you’re not a pumpkin person, I’m also a fan of filling them with cinnamon sugar and apples, or chocolate chips and banana slices.

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies

Betty Crocker saves the day with this recipe for pumpkin whoopie pies. Whoopie pies are my weakness, and these are pretty simple to make. To simplify it even further, you could use vanilla frosting as the stuffing instead of making your own filling.

Pumpkin French Toast

Since life can’t be all about dessert, I chose the next best meal to feature: breakfast! This pumpkin french toast recipe from The First Year Blog is to die for, and you only need a few easy ingredients. Instead of venturing into the cold for your next Sunday brunch, you can have a couple friends over for this pumpkin-y, delicious treat.
