In the midst of a pandemic and the mid-semester arriving with no spring break, it is important that we as students take time to relax. During these stressful times we must prioritize our minds and our bodies to take care of ourselves. Here are 5 COVID safe self-care activities that you can do outdoors.

Take a walk

Although this might seem like the most obvious activity, it is very beneficial. Just getting out of your dorm and going on a walk around the city can help clear your mind, decrease stress, and even inspire creativity.

Listen to music

Similar to taking a walk, going outside and listening to music can be very relaxing. You can go to a park to just sit and listen to music. Alternatively, you can go on a walk and listen to music.

Go on a run

Going on a run will allow you to be outdoors and will help both your body and your mind. Running is extremely healthy for bodily health, and the sense of achievement you feel after your run can be very rewarding. Running can improve your physical and mental health.

Free write on a bench

I have found that when I need to de-stress and spark creativity, I like to go to the Public Garden, sit on a bench, and write about whatever comes to mind. It is very relaxing and productive. It leaves you feeling very refreshed afterwards.

Meditate

Meditating allows you to slow down and focus on yourself while clearing your thoughts. The environment of meditating outside can have great improvement on your personal inner thoughts.
