Recipes to Get You in the Fall Mood

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Duke chapter.

I’m so happy that it’s starting to feel like fall. I love everything about fall. Halloween, leaves changing, sweaters and boots, and the crisp air are all amazing parts of fall. However, my favorite thing about autumn has to be the baking. Pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and apple are all key flavors in fall baking that will also give you the warm fuzzies. Here are some of my favorite recipes that are easy enough to do in your common room!

1.     Old Fashioned Apple-Crisp

I have such a soft spot for Ina Garten and her apple crisp recipe is so easy and perfect for fall. After going apple picking with your friends, whip up this dish and your room will smell like heaven.

2.     Pumpkin and Cream Cheese Muffins with Pecan Streusel

This is my favorite pumpkin muffin recipe. The cream cheese and streusel really set these muffins apart from any other pumpkin recipe. They are super moist and pumpkin is good for you so they can be considered healthy…right?

3.     Apple Cider Donuts

There are so many reasons to love Emily from cupcakes + cashmere, but this apple cider donut recipe is at the top of my list. Every fall growing up my family and I would go to a farm to see the goats, go on the hayride, navigate the corn maze, and get some apple cider donuts. I love this recipe since it brings back so many good memories!

4.     Chai Tea Latte

My Starbucks order rotates with the seasons and fall is Chai Tea Latte time. However, my addiction can be expensive so this recipe is great when I have the time to make it myself!
