Being able to find an outlet, a community in an institution that is dominated by men can be difficult at times, especially if you are not certain of where to turn to.
Here at DU, we have a few organizations geared toward the improvement and support of all womxn on campus. They are:
1. American Medical Women’s Association
Mission: “To advance women in medicine, advocate for equity in the medical field, and ensure excellence in health care.”
2. Collegiate Council on Gender Violence Topics
Mission: “CCGVT works to end gender-violence at the University of Denver and support survivors through education, community-building, and advocacy.”
3. IGNITE
Mission: “IGNITE aims to dramatically increase the pool of women who are prepared and eager to become the next generation of political leaders.”
4. Society of Women Engineers
Mission: “Empower women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering and technology professions as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity and inclusion.”
5. Undergraduate Women in Business
Mission: “To provide a values-based network of women who advocate personal growth, leadership development, and future opportunities in the business community.”
